Dylan Burger, son of legendary Bert Burger (look up this award winning shaper for a lesson in surfboard construction history), took up the reins to develop the suns brand along with a team of creative, innovative ocean dwellers who have a passion for all things surf and skate.
Guided by some industry greats and years of R&D, the team have developed a range of unique and durable construction methods along with designs that really work.
‘When my son Dylan expressed interest in creating a label, called suns, and he told me roughly what price point he wanted to start with to cut his teeth, I was thinking, ‘Here’s a perfect place to finally apply all that R&D!’

Vision
The universe does not stand still, it is ever expanding. It’s not a static dimension where technology ceases to evolve, where only a few masters control its destiny. There is no limits to creativity, self expression and human connection.
THE MOTHERSHIP (TBF)
The Board Factory Co., Ltd. is not exactly as you’d expect from the name. Yes it is a factory that produces some of the best boards on planet earth. Boards of all shapes and sizes ranging from 1-20’ and covering disciplines such as Surf, SUP, Kite, Windsurf, Foil and Skate. But it’s also a space for surfers, skaters and dreamers alike. With a unique community feel the board factory welcomes visitors from all over the World.
Drink and dine at the nTrance cafe and bar, skate a bowl or two at the skate park, pick up some wax at the store before taking a demo board to the local surf spots to try before you buy and relax in the beautiful surroundings.
Originally Established in 2012 in Chon Buri Thailand in 2016 the company relocated its headquarters to Khao Lak, in Phang Nga, Thailand approximately 80km north of the island of Phuket, in order to be closer to the ocean and for a better lifestyle. Located only 2km from some of Thailand’s most pristine beaches and surf locations, The Board Factory Co., Ltd. Is positioned in the perfect place to test the products they actually produce, something that is not common for many board producers.
The Board Factory Co., Ltd. has two in-house brands that they own, produce and market to clients and customers around the world. SUNOVA being the first, with some of the first ideas coming from 2007 shaper of the year Bert Burger back in 1976. The latest coming from his son Dylan being suns founded more recently in 2017.
With 100’s of years of experience between our amazing team, a solid framework over the past 10 years producing tens of thousands of boards under The Board Factory Co., Ltd. umbrella.
